Desert Meadows AHEC supports students at different stages of their education as they explore health careers and develop professional skills. Program availability varies; links to program details and applications will appear below when opportunities are available.
AHEC Ambassador Program
Designed for undergraduate students interested in health careers, the AHEC Ambassador Program combines community outreach, mentorship, health education and professional development. Students build leadership and teamwork skills, connect with local professionals and gain experience working with rural and underserved communities.
The Ambassador Program is not currently being offered. While it is unavailable, undergraduate students are welcome to apply for consideration in the AHEC Scholars Program.
Operation Health Care Bound
Operation Health Care Bound is a one-day event that introduces Southern Nevada high school students to a range of health care careers. Through hands-on demonstrations and experiences at participating hospitals, students learn about the work of doctors, nurses and professionals in fields such as pharmacy, diagnostic imaging and rehabilitation.
